Satish N. Nadig, MD, PhD is the Edward G. Elcock Professor of Surgery at the Northwestern University-Feinberg School of Medicine. He is an adult and pediatric multiorgan transplant surgeon and Professor in the Departments of Surgery, Microbiology/Immunonology, and Pediatrics.
Dr. Satish shares his life journey and how he became passionate about transplantation. He discusses the importance of liver health and the role of the liver as the main detoxifier in the body. He explains the concept of detoxifying the liver and the use of rapamycin as a potential geroprotector.
